NFL: Week 3 Predictions

By Alexander Davis — September 22, 2026
The NFL season is only two weeks old, but Week 3 already features several games that could help shape the early playoff picture. While it is still too early to make major conclusions about teams, several matchups stand out because of strong starts, quarterback play, and teams trying to bounce back from disappointing losses.
One of the biggest games of the week is the Los Angeles Chargers at Buffalo Bills. Buffalo enters Week 3 with a 2–0 record and has looked like one of the league's strongest teams. Quarterback Josh Allen continues to lead an explosive offense, while the Bills have also benefited from strong defensive play. The Chargers have enough offensive talent to keep the game competitive, but Buffalo's home-field advantage could be the difference. Prediction: Bills 31, Chargers 24.
Another matchup worth watching is Cincinnati at Pittsburgh. The Bengals have started the season 2–0 and have received strong performances from both their offense and defense. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is looking for answers after a difficult Week 2 loss. Cincinnati appears to have more momentum entering this game, but playing in Pittsburgh could make things interesting. Prediction: Bengals 27, Steelers 17.
The Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys game is also one of Week 3's most interesting matchups. The game will be played in Rio de Janeiro, making it a unique international event. Baltimore is coming off a disappointing loss to New Orleans after holding a large early lead, while Dallas is trying to find consistency. Both teams have talented offenses, so this could turn into a high-scoring game. Prediction: Ravens 28, Cowboys 24.
On Sunday Night Football, the Los Angeles Rams visit the Denver Broncos. The Rams looked impressive in Week 2, defeating the Giants 28–6, and they will try to carry that momentum into Denver. The Broncos' defense could make things difficult, especially at home, but Los Angeles has enough offensive weapons to make plays late in the game. Prediction: Rams 24, Broncos 21.
Finally, Philadelphia travels to Chicago for Monday Night Football. The Eagles enter the matchup with a strong roster and plenty of recent experience in important games. Chicago has shown offensive potential, but Philadelphia's overall balance could give it an advantage. Prediction: Eagles 27, Bears 23.
Overall, Week 3 should provide a better indication of which teams are prepared to compete throughout the 2026 season. Buffalo, Cincinnati, and Seattle have already started strongly, while teams such as Pittsburgh, Dallas, and Chicago are looking to establish consistency. With the season still young, one strong performance or one unexpected loss could quickly change the conversation.
